Rebuilt Distributor

We got a Beck-Arnley rebuilt distributor from rockauto for $85. It seems less sloppy than the worn out one that was in the car. The Bosch part number on the rebuild is the same as the original - 0 231 163 033. We won't be needing the points that came with it - we're replacing them with a pertronix pickup feeding into a MSD-6AL ignition and Blaster coil.

Engine reassembly

We're in the midst of reassembling the engine block. The crank, pistons and cam are in, along with the timing gears. It's ok... that red stuff is assembly lube, not blood.

ARP Rod Bolts

Jay Coombes at ARP was very helpful in identifying a rod bolt for our B20. Here's what Jay had to say.

"We have a bolt that is very close to meeting your dimensions. Our bolt does not have the relief under the head, the UHL is 2.360”, thread is 3/8-24 x .700”, shank diameter is .377” x 1.120”.
It is a bolt that was specially made; the quantity on hand is about 34 pieces. Price per bolt is $3.82, nut price is $0.56.".

I installed these bolts in our rods, they went in nice and snug using our hydraulic press.
